The ITCA Midlands Topper Traveller series made its way to Shustoke sailing Club on October 6th for the third round of the 2024 mini-series. Three races were held in challenging conditions, with series leader Alex Stainton looking to maintain his lead. The shifty winds created strategic opportunities for the sailors to navigate The UpWind course.
In the first race, Will Clarke emerged as the winner, with competitors like Oscar Rowe and James Burton also performing well. The second race saw Will securing another victory, showcasing his tactical skills. In the final race, Will clinched his third win of the day, securing his first overall victory in the series.
4.2 sailors Audrey Yang and Thomas Croxton displayed impressive performances, with Audrey winning the 4.2 category. Despite finishing fourth overall, Alex Stainton maintained his series lead by a narrow margin. The upcoming event at South Staffs on November 2nd promises to be an exciting penultimate race in the series.
