The Cascais J70 Portuguese National Championship took place from October 11th to 13th, 2024, as part of the 2024-2025 Cascais J70 Winter Series. Sixteen J70s from Portugal, Spain, Great Britain, Brazil, and the Netherlands competed in the event, which featured fair weather conditions with winds ranging from 6 to 12 knots.
Portuguese sailors dominated the competition, with Solyd Property Developers claiming the overall victory. The team, helmed by Vasco Serpa, overcame a 12-point deficit on the final day to secure the title. British team XCELLENT and northern Portuguese team Another Affair rounded out the top three.
The championship also highlighted the strong performance of the Corinthian class, with the Galician boat Abril Verde taking the top spot in that category.
The event received support from various sponsors, including the Cascais Municipality, Turismo de Cascais, Vista Alegre, Sagres, Marina de Cascais, and SailCascais. The competition showcased intense racing and top-notch sailing skills, with the local fleet from Cascais displaying consistency and international competitors providing strong challenges.
