The Carey Olsen Jersey regatta 2024 took place from 13th to 15th September and saw competitors facing light and stable winds throughout the event. The first day featured bright sunshine and a light northerly breeze, perfect for racing in St Aubin’s Bay. The event included various classes such as sportsboats, cruisers, quarter-ton boats, catamarans, and dinghies.
In the cruiser classes, notable winners included The Dog’s……..! in the Sportsboat & Cruiser Class 1, JAX in Cruiser Class 1, and Arc-en-Ciel in Cruiser Class 3b. The IRC Channel Islands Championship for cruisers was won by JAX, while Team Fahrenheit emerged victorious in the Quarter Ton Class.
The event also featured exciting competition in dayboats, sport catamarans, and dinghies. Notable winners included Jamesina in the Dayboat Class, Hobie 618 in the F18 sport catamaran class, and Top Kat in the open sport catamaran fleet. In the dinghy classes, Liquid Impulse and Funky Monkey were among the top performers.
Young sailors also showcased their skills in the Optimist class, with Henry Edwards sailing Funky Monkey to victory. The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony at St Helier Yacht Club, with plans announced for the 27th Jersey regatta to be held under the Carey Olsen banner in 2025. Congratulations to all competitors, officials, and volunteers for a successful event.
