The America’s Cup Hall of Fame recently welcomed new inductees in a ceremony at Barcelona‘s Museu Marítim during the 37th Match for the America’s Cup. The Class of 2024 includes Josh Belsky (USA), Bob Fisher (GBR), Juan Vila (ESP), and Kevin Shoebridge (NZL). Additionally, the Sir Richard Francis Sutton Medal was awarded to Vincenzo “Cino” Ricci (ITA) and Louis Vuitton (FRA). The event was hosted by Gary Jobson (USA) and presented by L’Oréal Groupe. The Class of 2025 and the next induction gala will be announced in early 2025.

Josh Belsky, known for his successful America’s Cup campaigns, was recognized for his contributions on and off the water, facilitating collaboration between designers, sailors, and builders. Bob Fisher, a prolific chronicler of the America’s Cup, authored numerous books documenting the history of the competition. Juan Vila, a skilled navigator and sailor, has competed in multiple America’s Cup campaigns and round the world races. Kevin Shoebridge, a key figure in Team New Zealand‘s success, has managed various aspects of the team for multiple Cup victories.

The Sir Richard Francis Sutton Medal honorees, Vincenzo “Cino” Ricci and Louis Vuitton, were acknowledged for their significant contributions to the America’s Cup. Ricci’s efforts in leading the first Italian team to compete in the Cup and Louis Vuitton‘s longstanding sponsorship of the Challenger Races were highlighted. The Selection Committee for the America’s Cup Hall of Fame comprises esteemed members from the sailing community.
