Juliette Kennedy and her team emerged victorious at the RYA Marlow Ropes Women’s Match Racing Championship held at Weymouth & Portland National sailing Academy on 14-15 September 2024. The event featured close competition among teams sailing Elliott 6M boats in good weather conditions.
Over the weekend, there were multiple round robins and competitive racing, with Kennedy ultimately clinching the title with 12 wins from 15 races. The event also included coaching sessions to help teams improve their skills and tactics.
In the finals, Kennedy defeated Ellen Morley to secure first place, with Morley finishing in second and Ruby Sunderland in third. Kennedy expressed her love for the event and encouraged more women to participate in match racing.
The next event in the RYA Match Racing Championship Series is Qualifier 5 in RS21s at Queen Mary sailing Club on 28-29 September.
