Emirates Team New Zealand Principal Matteo de Nora recently revealed in an interview that discussions have begun with INEOS Britannia regarding the next America’s Cup. De Nora hinted at a potential agreement for the British team to take on the role of Challenger of Record for the upcoming edition if Team New Zealand emerges victorious in the 37th Match.
Not much has been disclosed about the 38th America’s Cup yet, with current participants bound by certain obligations outlined in the Protocol signed by the six yacht clubs. These obligations include restrictions on challenging or defending AC38 with yachts not compliant with the AC75 Class Rule at the end of the AC37 Match.
