The International Maxi Association’s annual inshore series will be finalized this week at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, the last event in the 2024 IMA Mediterranean Maxi Inshore Challenge. This prestigious event will see a strong fleet of 41 maxis racing under IRC rules. The fleet includes a mix of classic, modern, and maxi yachts, showcasing both quantity and quality.
Racing will take place from Pampelonne Bay over the course of six days, with a layday on Wednesday. Among the competitors are well-known boats like Black Jack 100, Spirit 111 Geist, and Wallyño, the defending champion. The maxi fleet is divided into four classes based on speed and size, with each class featuring top contenders.
Notable entries include Jolt, Lyra, and Wallyño in their respective classes. The competition is expected to be fierce, with new additions like Galma and Tilakkhana adding interest to the mix. With ideal wind conditions forecasted for the week, the stage is set for an exciting conclusion to the maxi racing season.
