Lorient is gearing up for the offshore sailing World Championship, where teams from around the world will compete in One Design Sun Fast 30s along the rugged Atlantic Coast. The race will cover a course area ranging from the Isles of Scilly to the western approaches of The English Channel.

Teams will participate in elimination races to determine the top ten teams that will advance to the World Championship Final. The Région Bretagne Race, the second elimination race, is set to start in Lorient on Thursday, 26 September, with 11 teams from various nations such as Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, and more.

Each team has a unique set of sailors with impressive offshore experience. For example, Team Australia consists of Scotty and Phillippa Cavanough, who have a background in Class40 and Mini Transat racing. Meanwhile, Team France 1, featuring Elodie Bonafous and Basile Bourgnon, are considered favorites for the championship due to their impressive track record in competitions like the Solitaire du Figaro.
