Cagliari is gearing up to host the Sardinia Grand Slam, the second stage of the Kitefoil World Series, from October 1st to 5th. The event will witness top international kiteboarding athletes, including those who competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Defending World champion Maximilian Maeder is expected to lead the charge, following his recent victories. Other contenders include European Formula Kite champion Axel Mazella and Italian talents like Riccardo Pianosi and Lorenzo Boschetti. The Women’s field features French rider Jessie Kampman, who has been making waves in recent competitions.
The event will kick off with athlete registration and the opening ceremony on October 1st, with races taking place from October 2nd to 4th. The Medal Race and award ceremony will be held on October 5th.
The Sardinia Grand Slam is organized by GLEsport in collaboration with Chia Wind Club, under the aegis of IKA and the FIV, with support from the Municipality of Cagliari. Partners of the event include Playcar and USE.
