A new sailing competition, the China Sailing City Super League, has officially been announced, featuring three preliminary events and a grand final in its first year. This innovative league, organized by the Chinese Yachting Association, is set to take place in various locations, with the kickoff scheduled for June 24-27 in Qujiang City, Zhejiang Province.

This unique format distinguishes itself by allowing cities to compete against each other rather than teams or individual sailors. Each of the three stops will see 10 teams, each representing a different city. A point-based ranking system will be established, with top competitors carrying their points into the finals, where they will vie for the championship title.

While the venues for the second and third events have yet to be revealed, Shanghai is being considered as the host city for the final showdown. Each stop will feature a total prize pool of 120,000 yuan (approximately US$18,768), while the grand final will offer 300,000 yuan in prizes. All competitors will race using the J80 keel sailing boats, adding to the excitement of this groundbreaking sailing league.
