The Noble Marine ILCA 6 Masters UK National Championships 2024 took place at Hayling Island sailing Club from 27-29 September. A total of 101 entries competed in the event, with 46 ILCA 6 sailors participating in the Masters National Championships.
The ILCA Masters fleet was divided into different age categories, including Apprentice Masters, Masters, Grand Masters, Great Grand Masters, and Legends. The weather conditions provided a challenging mix of strong winds and light breezes over the course of the weekend.
Competitors faced varying wind conditions during the races, showcasing their sailing skills in different scenarios. Jon Emmett emerged as a standout performer, securing wins in multiple races. Other top performers included Ross Harvey, Steve Cockerill, and Marshall King.
The event featured a prize-giving ceremony with various sponsors providing prizes for the winners. Jon Emmett claimed the overall victory and was also named the top Master, while Ross Harvey and Steve Cockerill also delivered strong performances in their respective age categories.
The event was made possible by the efforts of the race teams at HISC and ILCAUK, as well as the support of the event sponsors. Overall, it was a successful and competitive championship showcasing the talent of ILCA 6 sailors in the UK.
