The Noble Marine RS600 National Championship took place at Eastbourne Sovereign sailing Club from 12-15 September 2024. Day 4 saw the fleet battling it out in ideal conditions, with George Smith clinching the final race victory. The event was closely fought, with Jamie Mawson emerging as the overall winner. The championship showcased a variety of wind conditions and wave states, making for an exciting competition.
The event was hosted excellently by Eastbourne Sovereign sailing Club, with top-notch race management and a warm welcome for all participants. Special thanks were extended to the beach team and the bar and galley staff for their exceptional service throughout the event. Ben Daigneault captured some fantastic shots from the championship, with event videos set to be released in the coming weeks.
The overall results saw Jamie Mawson take the top spot, followed by George Smith in second place and Andrew Peake in third. The event was a true testament to the competitive spirit and skill of the RS600 sailors. Looking ahead, the Rooster National Tour event at Notts County sailing Club and the end of seasons’ regatta at Rutland offer more exciting racing opportunities for enthusiasts. Plans are also underway for the 2025 calendar, with Mounts Bay sailing Club set to host a headline event in September.
