The 15th CIC Normandy Channel Race Day 4 took place on 17 September 2024. Virtually all the fleet has now passed the Fastnet lighthouse and the race is heating up as competitors head back across the Celtic Sea. The top spot has been changing hands, with Groupe SNEF taking the lead followed closely by others. The removal of the ‘Island of Guernsey’ from the compulsory race marks has added a strategic element to the race. The Class40s are engaged in a tactical battle as they make their way back towards Cornwall in a building breeze. Despite limited options, sailors are working hard to gain an edge over their competitors. Further back in the fleet, Free Dom made a radical strategic move but Trim Control currently leads the way. The race is far from over, as anything can happen in the challenging CIC Normandy Channel Race.
