The Notts County sailing Club recently hosted its annual Junior open meeting, attracting a diverse group of participants, from experienced sailors to those new to racing. The event featured 17 entries, with two coach boats providing support throughout the races. The competition was fierce at the top of the fleet, with Cillian Dyne and Charles Miles Hayler leading the way. However, notable achievements were seen across the fleet, as beginners faced the challenging conditions with determination. Race officer Rebecca Ogden ensured smooth sailing with a trapezoidal course layout. After several races, Charles Miles Hayler emerged as the Junior trophy winner, with Peter Gathergood, Isabel Ritchie, and James Burton also placing well in their respective categories.Overall, it was a successful event showcasing talent and sportsmanship among young sailors.
