In Saint Tropez today, the 250 boats out on the racetrack wrote the final chapter of the wonderful 2024 epic of Les Voiles. Maxi, Modern, and Tradition yachts set sail in summery sunshine with a lovely breeze for the high point of this exceptional week. The public crowded along the Môle Jean Réveille enjoyed a magical show as this anniversary edition of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez rounded off in style.
Modern yachts battled it out in fluky winds, with TP52s and other boats competing fiercely. TP52 Nanoq, skippered by King Frederik of Denmark, emerged victorious in IRC B. In IRC C, Briton Michael Wilson on Shotgunn claimed the crown. Gael Claeys on Expresso dominated IRC D, while Pride won in IRC E.
In Tradition yachts, Marga bagged the Rolex Trophy in a breathtaking final, narrowly beating P Class Olympian. Belle Aventure and Crusader were victorious in their categories, showing exceptional performance. Tuiga emerged as the most consistent performer among the BIG boats.
Maxi yachts saw favorites maintaining their form, with Jolt winning in Maxi A and Lyra in Maxi B. Wallyño and Six Jaguar triumphed in Maxi Cs and Maxi D respectively. Overall, the event showcased exceptional sailing and sportsmanship.
