The 18ft Skiff Sixt Spring Championship & Club Championship, Race 1 marked the start of the Australian 18 Footers League‘s 91st season of racing on Sydney Harbour. The challenging conditions saw the Rag & Famish Hotel team claim victory in Race 1 of the Club Championship, showcasing impressive sailing skills. Vaikobi led early on but encountered spinnaker issues, allowing Rag & Famish Hotel to take the lead and secure a significant win. Despite the tough conditions, only seven out of 13 starters completed the course.

In the handicap section, which was Race 1 of the Sixt Spring Championship, Rag & Famish Hotel emerged as the winner, further solidifying their dominance on the day. The series will consist of six races with no discards, culminating on November 24. The next race in the championship is set for the following Sunday, with live streaming available for spectators unable to attend in person.
