The 2024 Classic Yacht Challenge Series has wrapped up with record participation and exciting finishes, showcasing the growth in both participation and competition from the previous year. Hosted by the Classic Yacht Owners Association (CYOA), the series brought together vintage and modern classic yachts across various districts.

The Vintage class saw Ken Colburn’s NY 40 Marilee emerge as the overall winner, with close competition from iconic boats like Dorade and Black Watch Syndicate. In the Classics class, newcomer James Emery and Lilith took the top spot, while modern boats like Intrepid, Ponyo, and Outlier excelled in their respective divisions.

A special mention goes to Lars and Peter Forsberg for their dedication to classic racing aboard their 1934 John Alden schooner, Spirit, participating in 10 out of the 14 regattas across districts. Maine, the largest district, saw a significant increase in participation, showcasing the growing enthusiasm for classic yachting.

Looking ahead to the next season, the Classic Yacht Owners Association aims to build on the success of 2024 and continue fostering the passion for classic yacht racing. For detailed results and upcoming events, visit the CYOA website.
