Royal Western Yacht Club of England and Newport Yacht Club Join Forces for ‘WORLDSTAR’ 2026 Event

The Royal Western Yacht Club (RWYC) in Plymouth, UK, has officially partnered with the Newport Yacht Club in Rhode Island for the highly anticipated WORLDSTAR 2026 race. This collaboration emphasizes the strong relationship between the two clubs, particularly as Newport Yacht Club has been a steadfast supporter of the OSTAR and TWOSTAR races since 2005, providing essential services such as boat berthing and hospitality for the sailors upon their arrival.

Robert Antignano, Commodore of Newport Yacht Club, expressed pride in supporting the WorldStar 2026 event, highlighting the challenging nature of the race that involves a non-stop journey around the great capes. He described it as “a challenge which is not for the faint at heart. A race for the ages.”

Chris Arscott, Commodore and Race Director for the WorldStar ’26 from RWYC, affirmed the strong partnership with Newport, stating how quickly it became clear that Newport would serve as the US Partner for this prestigious race. The WorldStar has already garnered interest, with six paid entries and additional inquiries expected to materialize soon.

The excitement continues to build as the official start of the WORLDSTAR is scheduled for 12:00 BST on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Interested participants can find further details and register their intent on the RWYC website.
