RS400 Northern Tour 2024 Sponsored by Trident UK
For the second year in a row, Chris Pickles and Matt Sharman from Bassenthwaite SC have clinched the 2024 RS400 Trident UK Northern Tour title. It was a close battle, with the top 6 positions being decided at the final event of the season.
Chris and Matt finished tied on points with Ollie Groves and Ester Parkhurst from Beaver SC, both teams having a strong performance throughout the season. However, a tiebreaker was needed to determine the winner. Hamish Gledhill and Ross Southwell from West Riding SC secured third place.
Throughout the year, the Trident UK Northern Tour featured a variety of Sailing conditions, from strong winds and big waves to calm lake waters. Despite a slight drop in the overall number of boats competing this year, the tour saw some new faces in the fleet.
Next year’s calendar is already confirmed, and the fleet is set to return to Bala SC for the Northern Championships. The tour organizers are looking forward to more boats joining the competition and welcome any suggestions for improving the tour.
Special thanks to Trident UK for their continued support of the tour, providing prizes for the winners and vouchers for participants. The first event of the 2025 season is set to take place at Leigh and Lowton SC in March.
