The Sailingfast Wessex ILCA Open took place at South Cerney sailing Club on October 19, 2024. The event saw a mix of local and visiting sailors competing in good weather conditions. Six local boats were joined by ten visitors from nearby lakes, with everyone enjoying the warm, sunny weather and favorable wind.
The day consisted of four races with close competition throughout. Race winners included Daniel Sadler, Toby Owen, Po Wong, and John Ling, among others. Prize-giving took place at the end of the day, with John Ling taking the top spot overall. The event was a success thanks to the participants, organizers, and sponsors from Sailingfast.
Overall, it was a great day of sailing with competitive racing and camaraderie among the sailors. The event marked the end of the Wessex ILCA Series, and participants were pleased to have been able to compete despite challenging weather in the following days.
