The RS Venture Connect Worlds 2024 took place at Rutland sailing Club from 30th September to 3rd October, amidst challenging weather conditions. The competition saw close results with defending champions Ange Margaron and Olivier Ducruix claiming victory in the Para Category for the second year in a row. Rory McKinna and Wu Chi Chian from GBR secured Silver, while Pedro Câncio Reis and Guilherme Ribeiro from POR clinched Bronze. The event also featured the Inclusive Category, with Norwegian Team Elliot Finnestrand and Nilas Goa Diab taking Gold.
Despite testing weather conditions, Para and Inclusive sailors raced on the same level playing field without handicaps, showcasing the spirit of the new World sailing Strategy. With 32 teams from 15 countries and support from volunteers and sponsors like RS sailing, the event fostered a strong sense of community. The championship truly embodied inclusion in sailing, with competitors from around the globe coming together to celebrate the sport.
