SW Topper Travellers at Chew Valley Lake sailing Club
A wonderful weekend took place at Chew Valley Lake sailing Club on 5-6 October 2024 as the SW Topper Travellers event unfolded. Sailors enjoyed the no tide inland lake setting, a change from the usual coastal waters.
Coaching sessions on Saturday prepared participants for race day on Sunday, with varying conditions making for exciting races. Thomas Semmens and Harry Mills showcased their skills, swapping 1st and 2nd positions in the Topper class.
Congratulations to the winners – Thomas Semmens, Harry Mills, and George Reynolds in the 5.3 fleet class, and Brooke Browning, Finley Kirby, and James Colis in the 4.2 fleet. The next and final SW Topper Traveller event of the season will be a championship at Parkstone on October 19th and 20th.
Best of luck to Thomas and Harry on their future sailing journey into ILCAs. The event at Chew Valley Lake sailing Club was a success thanks to the well-organized races and warm hospitality.
