Valencia 52 Super Series Royal Cup – Day 1
Ergin Imre’s team with their newly launched Provezza lead the Valencia 52 SUPER SERIES Royal Cup after the first two races of the final event of the 2024 season were sailed in challenging conditions. Provezza, Alegre, and Platoon Aviation are the top three teams after the first day of racing.
Tina Plattner steered her Phoenix to victory in the first race, while Alegre claimed second place. In the second race, Platoon Aviation took the win, with Provezza finishing second. Both races saw shifting winds and strategic sailing.
Provezza’s strategist noted the complexity of the offshore breeze but was pleased with the team’s performance. Alegre’s crew also had a positive day, aiming to secure solid finishes in every race.
For the top contenders for the 2024 circuit title, Gladiator and Quantum Racing had a mixed day with some challenging results. Platoon Aviation made significant gains, narrowing the gap in the overall standings.
