Vamos has emerged victorious at the 2024-25 Victorian J70 States, showcasing a dominant performance in the strong northerly conditions at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron. Skippered by Tim Ryan, the cruising Yacht Club of Australia-based team secured the title with a Race 7 win, finishing the regatta ahead of schedule. Despite challenging weather variations throughout the three-day event, Ryan expressed satisfaction with the win and praised the diverse sailing conditions offered by the venue. In second place was Matador, skippered by David Doherty, followed by Rod Warren’s Joust70 in third place. The growing popularity of J70 sailing at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron was highlighted by local sailor Kate Richardson, who praised the camaraderie and ideal sailing conditions at the club.
