The Waldringfield Sailing Club hosted the annual Cartoon trophy open meeting as part of the 2024 Lark Class Craftinsure Traveller’s Series for the Belle Isle Trophy on 7th-8th September. The event kicked off with a social Club BBQ welcoming Dragonfly visitors from Ireland for their world championships and 75th anniversary. Despite a light forecast, races were completed on Saturday with Chris and Cathy Fish emerging victorious. Sunday saw more energetic racing with Harry Pynn and Gemma Cook taking the lead in Race 3. Overall, Chris and Cathy Fish claimed the top spot in the competition, with Nigel Hufton and Edd McArdle/Charlotte Stewart in second and Harry Pynn and Margot Pynn/Gemma Cook in third. The weekend concluded with a prize-giving ceremony thanks to the generous sponsors. Upcoming events include the Inland Championships at Grafham Water SC on 14th-15th September.
