The Border Counties Midweek sailing Series recently concluded at Winsford Flash sailing Club, despite rainy, windy conditions. A total of 18 competitors participated in the final round of the 2024 season. The racing saw shifting winds and challenging conditions, with three races taking place throughout the day.
The results were closely contested, with only 3 points separating the top three finishers. Simon & Julie Dolman in a Miracle took first place in the double-handed category, while Nayth Twiggs emerged as the top junior sailor. Overall series winners included Pete Coop, Ted Garner, and Paul Newman, among others.
The Borders series, now in its fourth year, continues to attract more clubs and sailors each year. Dates for the 2025 season are already available on the website. For more information about the series, visit the Border Counties Midweek sailing website at bordercountiesmidweeksailing.wordpress.com.
