Craftinsure Supernova Traveller Series at Haversham sailing Club

On October 13th, the Craftinsure Supernova Traveller Series took place at Haversham sailing Club. The event saw light wind conditions of 0-8 knots, leading to two races being held in the morning. However, the lack of wind forced the cancellation of the third race.

In the first race, sailors like Alistair Goodwin, Serena Stewardson, Adrian Lumb, and Luke Fisher made notable starts, with Alistair Goodwin, Steve Johnson, and Mike Malcom taking the lead after the windward mark. Adrian Lumb secured the first bullet of the day, followed by Alistair Goodwin and Richard Boutle.

The second race saw only one boat, Mike Malcom, sailing the correct course, causing others to be pushed back a lap. Tony Bleasdale performed well in the lighter winds, finishing third behind Alistair Goodwin. The mark 1 boats proved competitive against the mark 2s, with Josh Beardshaw claiming the first mark 1 boat position.

After a break for lunch, plans for a third race were abandoned due to the complete lack of wind. Alistair Goodwin finished in 1st place, followed by Adrian Lumb in 2nd and Richard Boutle in 3rd. The event drew sailors from various clubs, with a total of twenty-five Supernovas on the water.

The next event is scheduled for October 26th at Bowmoor sailing Club. The overall results are as follows:
1st – Alistair Goodwin
2nd – Adrian Lumb
3rd – Richard Boutle
