The Long Beach Yacht Club has released the Notice of Race for the 60th Anniversary of The Congressional Cup, taking place from April 30 to May 4, 2025. This prestigious event will be preceded by the Ficker Cup Grade 2 event from April 25-27, offering two top finishers an invitation to The Congressional Cup.
The Congressional Cup is recognized as a pioneer in modern world-class match racing and is the longest-standing event of its kind in North America. Since 1965, the event has been hosted annually by over 300 club volunteers, with the World Match Racing Tour representing it as a world championship stage since 2000.
Past champions of The Congressional Cup include renowned sailors such as Ted Turner, Dennis Conner, and Peter Gilmour, among others. The event attracts top talent from around the globe and serves as a vital platform for emerging sailors to hone their skills and gain invaluable experience.
