Etchells UK South Coast Championship at the Royal London Yacht Club

The Royal London Yacht Club hosted thrilling races over the weekend, led by PRO Mike Randall. The fleet journeyed to Osborne Bay on Saturday, where they faced challenging conditions during four races.
Tactics played a crucial role due to significant shifts and cross tide. Tango excelled, clinching three bullets, while Man’s Best Friend secured victory in another race. Louise Racing finished in the third position, demonstrating consistent performance throughout the day.
Day two brought lighter winds, allowing for only one race on Bramble Bank. Strong tidal influences affected the fleet, causing half to finish outside the time limit as the wind subsided.
Man’s Best Friend claimed victory in a chaotic race filled with various protests and competitive interactions among the fleet.
Final results showed Tango (Chris Hampton) taking the top spot, followed by Man’s Best Friend (Ted Blowers) in second place, and Louise Racing (Tom Hough) in third.
The first Corinthian Team prize went to Audrey (Richard Ellis), closely followed by Astrid (Mike O’Donovan), while Rocketman (Rob Goddard) also put up a strong performance.
In the youth fleet, Man’s Best Friend (Ted Blowers) emerged as the champion, with Astrid (Mike O’Donovan) finishing in second and Ariel (Naomi Richards) taking third place.
