UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay Tours Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team Base in Barcelona



UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay visited the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team base in Barcelona on September 30, 2024. She was welcomed by key members of the team and the Italian Consul in Barcelona.

Azoulay praised the team’s recent accomplishments and wished them success in upcoming races. The visit took place during the Ocean&Climate Village exhibition, which has been a resounding success with numerous workshops and activities focusing on ocean conservation and sustainability.

The exhibition, supported by the Prada Group as part of the SEA BEYOND project, highlights the important role of sailing in oceanographic research and climate regulation. Using interactive displays, the exhibit educates visitors on the intricate relationship between the ocean and climate.

UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay and Lorenzo Bertelli, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for the Prada Group, emphasized the significance of initiatives like the Ocean&Climate Village in raising awareness about ocean protection and conservation.

Max Sirena, Skipper and Team Director of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with UNESCO and highlighted the team’s commitment to promoting marine environment protection through their participation in the America’s Cup.
